Assuming the following: -12V DC Motor, Free Speed: 5,310 RPM, Free Current: 2.7A, Max Power: 337W (at 2,655 RPM, 1.21 N-m @ 68A), Stall Torque: 2.42 N-m, Stall Current: 133A. -A 28"Wx28"Dx48"H box weighing about 140 pounds (weight is evenly distributed). -A 10' long, 1.5" diameter pipe at a 68 degree angle from floor.

If the box can be "clamped" to the pipe while keeping the box level, what would it take to move the box up along the pipe, using the above motor driving a wheel against the pipe? It would need to move the box the length of the pipe in 30 seconds or less. Also, if power us cut to the motor, what mechanism would be needed to keep the robot at the existing location on the pipe?

"Welcome to Physics.SE," obsidian". Our FAQ is written so that we don't answer specific instances of question that look textbook assignments. Instead we prefer to address the onceptual underpinnings of the problems. If you would like to rewrite this in a conceptual form we would be happy to help.
