Hello I am preparing for the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics. However my knowledge of constellations and practical astronomy is very poor. I was looking for a book which would help me with the basics and also provide an in depth knowledge into the concepts of astronomy. Something equivalent to 'Problem Soving Strategies' by Arthur Engel in astronomy. Physics and math are no problem. Thank you.

Hi Noel. Welcome to Physics.SE. Please have a look at questions already asked: here, here and here? Or have a by clicking several tags. Maybe this would be useful for astrophysics :-) – Ϛѓăʑɏ βµԂԃϔ Jan 1 at 8:58

@DavidZaslavsky: Yeah. Thats what I've already linked with my comment. But, this could be closed as a "duplicate". It is quite rude to say this "off-topic" :-) – Ϛѓăʑɏ βµԂԃϔ Jan 1 at 13:09

Well frankly we have created an "off-topic" debate. This platform promised me an answer- something I am yet to receive. – Noel Jan 1 at 13:13

This has been a very bad experience for me here at Physics SE. Never in my life have I experienced such tyranny. I'll never return to this place again. What's the difference between this place and Yahoo Answers- I can't see any expert helping me out here, just narcissistic and conceited people trying to increase/ exhibit their so called "reputation". – Noel Jan 1 at 13:31
