Is it possible to create, and sustain, an electrified silicon gas vortex?
If it is possible: would it produce an electromagnetic field?
And how would that field affect the vortex?

@Magpie The concept came to me when I was reading about silicon. Curiosity is the motivator; and I lack the money and education to perform such an experiment. – Honest Abe Dec 11 '12 at 0:45
