In the phosphorus cycle, phosphorus is deposited on the ocean and river floors. Then a process of "geological uplifting" returns the phosphorus into rocks. Can anyone explain this process of geological uplifting?

It's geology, not physics--- it's probably to do with tectonic plates getting pushed back up or something. You are not likely to get a good answer here, although you never know. – Ron Maimon Oct 25 '12 at 3:56
