First of all, I would like to apologize in advance for this mundane question which you have been probably asked a thousand times on this forum. But I would like to understand what (rudimentary) QM is about, so I decided to conduct self-studies on mathematical subjects. This is my plan:

  • First, watch open courseware from khanacademy on Linear Algebra and Differential Equations (started)
  • With the gained knowledge, extensively study chapter 2 of Zettili's 'Quantum Mechanics - Concepts and Applications' (chapter 2 is called Mathematical Tools of QM, and basically is 120 pages full of mathematics and exercises).

What would you guys add to this action plan? My basic objective is to be able to 'understand' rudimentary QM the same way I 'understand' rudimentary mechanics (high school mechanics)
