Physics Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for active researchers, academics and students of physics. It's 100% free, no registration required.

What are the prospects of funding in physics by superrich philanthropists? There are a couple out there, like John Templeton and Mike Lazirides. In the past, people like Werner Erhard and Solvay played that role. How does one go about seeking a superrich patron? Most rich philanthropists prefer to fund things like eradicating malaria, curing cancer, helping the poor, etc. .

Hi Anon, and welcome to Physics Stack Exchange! This is a site for conceptual physics questions, not business questions, so this is kind of off topic here; besides, it's not quite a well defined question. See our FAQ for more information. – David Zaslavsky Jul 27 '12 at 14:51
