can you recommend some instructive online source where I could find some information about physics of musical theory. It can be either basic or advanced. I'd like to improve my guitar play understanding.

Hi user436730, and welcome to Physics Stack Exchange! What exactly do you want to know about musical theory? We prefer direct questions that can be actually answered here to questions that just ask for books or references. – David Zaslavsky Feb 3 '12 at 7:38
tried this? – Jack Feb 3 '12 at 8:05
Yes, of course I tried google. However first couple of references were unsatisfactory. What I look for is some compact source, maybe some series of articles or some educational material that ties together musical theory with physical properties. – user436730 Feb 3 '12 at 8:15

Beyond the overtone series, there is very little useful physics that deals with the perception and interpretation of music, which is actually what music theory tries to explain. In other words, music "theory" is actually an empirical science, and resembles psycho-acoustics more than physics. – Greg Loftus Feb 3 '12 at 15:29

We've had some flags on this so I'm closing it. If you can edit the question to be more specific about what physical aspects of music theory you're looking for information about, I'll be happy to reopen it. – David Zaslavsky Feb 3 '12 at 18:45

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

You don't really says what it is you're looking for but maybe you don't know yet.

This video is certainly entertaining. Watching this you probably find new keywords to search for.
